Glenn Skivington was captain of the successful Barrow AFC side that went to Wembley for the first time in 1990, when the team won the final of the FA Trophy, beating Leek Town by three goals to nil. He also played 5 times for the England semi-professional side.
Glenn gained 4 A levels at Barrow Grammar School.
He is now the Corporate and Commercial Director and also heads up the sports law team at Gordons Solicitors Limited in Marlowe. His legal expertise concentrates on corporate, commercial and sports areas covering a wide variety of non contentious matters including a significant amount of work on brand and IP sale, acquisition, protection and licensing.
His time as a footballer stands him in good stead as he now utilises his connections with players, clubs, agents and sporting bodies.
Past adventures in the sports law field have included player contract negotiations and transfers, representing clubs and associations and acting for sports agents.
Sports law matters have centred on brand protection and licensing, merchandising, endorsement, sponsorship, image and personality rights, event management and rights licensing, agency, and other representation of individuals, sporting clubs and brand owners.
