A message from Heather Harrison:
I am sad to inform you that my dad, Roy Lawson, passed away peacefully on Monday 22nd October 2018, age 83, after a long illness.
Given his long association with Barrow Grammar School and being head boy, I thought some of your readers may remember him. I am not completely sure of the dates he attended the school, but he was born on 16/02/1935.
Sincerely
Heather Harrison
If you knew Roy and have memories of him please leave them on the form below.
Thanks

Comment: Roy Lawson was a cousin of my father Sir Frank Barlow, also a former president of the OBA, who passed away in 2019. The two of them had a long friendship, with numerous fishing visits to Scotland and convivial family reunions.

Comment: Roy was a year ahead of me through the School and was very involved with the scouting activities of the 3rd BGS scout troup in particular the mountain walking and climbing together with camping in the Lakes,Scotland and Wales. We had great times under the leadership of Bill Shepherd together with Roy's friends Derrick Gould, David Miller and many others.
