Sir Alexander Dunbar

Can you help with some information?

Jo Pullman has made the following enquiry: 

My grandfather (Sir) Alexander Dunbar (pictured above) was an old Barrovian & in 1950 president of the OBA.

Can you please help me with any info:
1. What dates did he attend the school & did he go on to any higher education?

2. What would the entrance criteria have been at that time?

3. Did his brother Jim also attend the school?

4. Was C. Dunbar (see OBA book - town scholarship 1924/5) any relative? As far as I know Alec & Jim had only daughters.
