Comment: Sam Price was a fine headmaster, despite administering 6 strokes of the cane to me aged 17 in 1962/63 …… for not wearing my cap leaving the school in the afternoon! His many quotes at morning assembly from the Manchester Guardian sparked interests in current affairs and politics.
